BxBarCode is RFID tags and bar-codes 1D and 2D reader. Its function is to control the turnstile or entrance gate on the sport and recreation venue. The construction of the reader is based on 32-bits microcontroller ARM LPC2142. The function of the microcontroller is to decode the code, which was read from transponder by U2270 chip, to operate LCD display, to communicate with a computer and to operate electro-lock. The controller communicates with PC computer by an industrial interface compliant with RS485 standard which guarantees transmission infallibility in severe environmental conditions. The transmission protocol is adapted to operate with BxESOK application (Electronic Customer Service System) which is used to calculate time of staying in venue. BxESOK program supervises the reader’s work by sending orders-questions such as: asking about device’s status, operating electro-lock, card code, text displaying. BxBarCode operates with transponders cards or key rings compatible with EM-410x chip and most of the popular bar codes’ standards 1D and 2D (for example UPC/EAN, UCC/EAN 128, Code 128, ISBT 128, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 93, Code 11, Codabar, MSI). On the front of the case there is a graphical monochromatic LCD display with 192x64 pixels resolution, which displays information from ESOK server and error report in case of breaking connection with a server. Getting the transponder (card) closer to a display field or a bar-code beneath the case, the reader makes generating sound signal and next carrying out operations set by the server. The server has one relay output, two MOSFET outputs and one input. The input is used as a confirmation signal of turning turnstile and this confirmation can be configured in four ways: increasing slope, falling slope, low and high signal. The relay output is used as a blockade(electromagnet) release. Switched off MOSFET outputs are in high impedance state and switch on a power supply potential. Several controllers can work simultaneously on the one communication bus. Each of the the reader has its unique address kept in nonvolatile EEPROM memory connected to LPC2142 microcontroller ports which is programmable. The device case 144x198x53 is made of aluminium with HPL and from the front the display is protected by neat-looking transparent plastic with inscription. The device is produced exclusively for BxSystem stationing in Rzeszow. This company sells and introduces electronic customer service systems ESOK.
