PolCarReader is a RFID reader device able to communicate by Ethernet or USB interface. The reader can read tags compatible with EM-4102 Unique standard. The main task of the reader is to control access to rooms (by electrolocker). After putting the tag against PolCarReader it connects with the server using previously programmed IP address and port. When the controller is connecting, server application (made by the buyer himself) checks in the database if the tag code read by appropriate reader allows to enter the object. If it does, then the message is sent from the server to the reader with the order to open the locker (programmed earlier in time) signaled by LED diodes or voice buzzer. Otherwise, the application sends the appropriate message controlling LED diodes or the buzzer which informs about the lack of access to the object. The configuration of controller settings like address IP, gate IP, server IP, server port, login, password, time of locker opening etc. is made in two ways: by authorized Telnet connection of by USB port (virtual COM port) using the available terminal. Additionally, PolCarReader May be used as a regular USB reader. With disconnected Ethernet cable, a tag code and short buzzer signal is sent on the virtual serial port. PolCarReader is produced in two version – powered by PoE or simpler version powered by external power supply 12V. The reader with PoE can be powered by external supply as well. The device is in 128x94x28mm light-gray plastic box. The box can be mounted to the wall by two metal screws. The version without PoE has connectors on the side of the box and with PoE on the back of the box.
